Our Personal Injury team work with a number of referrers including leading claim and accident management companies. The team, headed up by David Armstrong, comprises two partners, three solicitors, ten paralegals and three dedicated case co-ordinators based in our Edinburgh, Glasgow and Dundee offices.
Our expertise extends to:
- Medical and clinical negligence
- Industrial disease
- Travel-related accident abroad claims
- Spinal injuries claims
- Road traffic accidents
- Accidents at work
- Product liability
- Slips and trips (public liability and occupiers liability)
- Catastrophic and fatal accidents
- Loss of society claims
We deal with both volume work and high value complex cases. For most cases we offer “no win, no fee” funding. For cases where liability is an issue, we offer a unique contingent After the Event Insurance policy at competitive rates.

Proactivity from the outset
We are pro-active in the way that we handle cases from the start. Our vetting process ensures that all relevant information is obtained at the outset of the claim. Identifying the key issues in a case at an early stage, whether a straightforward RTA or a catastrophic injury sustained in the workplace, ensures that we achieve the quickest and most favourable settlement for the claimant.
We aim to provide unrivalled levels of service and all cases referred to us follow rigorous service standards which we will agree with all parties at the outset. We ensure that our clients and referrers are kept fully informed of the progress of their case by sending weekly reports as standard. We will update the referrer on a more regular basis or on any key developments as agreed.
Dedicated case take on team
We have a very experienced and dedicated case take on team that takes charge of all incoming new referrals.
Any new claims can be transferred via our Hot Key Transfer number or via email once we have vetted each referred case which can usually be done in 24 hours. We will then confirm the sign up arrangements. We will normally sign up all clients by Echo-Sign.
There are, of course, some clients who prefer correspondence via mail which can slow down final acceptance of the case. We aim to accept as many cases as possible within the first two days of the case being referred to us.
Industry-leading case management
We use the latest Visualfiles Case Management technology to process all of our claims. This is fully integrated with our real time extranet reporting which gives clients and referrers 24 hour access to our web based case update programme.
Quality assurance
Our case review system includes an automated monthly review process which enables us to measure our performance against the KPI’s agreed with a referrer. Regular reviews ensure that we maintain a high standard of service and any matters can be dealt with immediately. We also have an extensive training and development programme in place for our people.
Pricing
Transparency, flexibility and value for money are central to our pricing approach. In addition to speculative fees for appropriate cases, we are happy to accept cases on the basis of an agreed fixed fee. We can also pay for referrals on a tariff basis whereby the cost of each referral reflects the potential value of the claim. The tariff is based on a set fee dependent upon the value of the claim. An agreed tariff is something that we would be happy to discuss with you further.
