We are delighted to have been closely associated with SAMH (Scottish Association of Mental Health) for many years, supporting the charity through staff fundraising and volunteering as well as co-hosting events to promote positive mental health within the workplace whilst also reinforcing the benefits of sport and exercise on mental wellbeing.
SAMH is one of Scotland’s leading charities which has been operating for almost 100 years. The organisation aims to end stigmas surrounding mental health, providing support, awareness and help to those in need. SAMH offers a comprehensive programme of support and services for adults and young people.
Partnering with SAMH to support the Van Gogh Alive Exhibition at Edinburgh’s Festival Square in June is a welcome opportunity to reinforce our commitment to this important issue. This immersive and multi-sensory exhibition offers guests the chance to experience world renowned pieces from the artist, Vincent van Gogh, who tragically suffered from mental health issues himself.
Our Chairman Peter Tweedie said: “We are delighted to be partnering with SAMH to support the work it is doing with the team behind Van Gogh Alive, not just to raise funds to aid the charity’s work, but to highlight important issues surrounding mental health.
“We work hard to create a healthy workplace for our colleagues and work with our clients to help them achieve the same. Encouraging positive mental health - and taking steps to support colleagues when they need it - is something we encourage every employer to have front-and-centre. It has never been more important.
“The coronavirus pandemic has exacerbated issues for some people, so events like this which highlight the support available are vital. To be working alongside one of Scotland’s leading charities as part of this exciting exhibition is a real honour and pleasure.”
