We were delighted to advise our clients, Solley Hotels on the sale of Balgeddie House Hotel in Fife which follows closely on the back of the recent disposal of the Kings Manor Hotel in Edinburgh.
The Balgeddie House Hotel is located on the outskirts of Glenrothes and is popular for weddings and events as well as business guests. Our multi-disciplinary team assisted with the off-market deal which saw the venue being sold to Smar Hotels & Leisure.
Kenny Gray, Partner in our Commercial Property team at Lindsays, said: “Solley Hotels have a great business and we are pleased to be working alongside them. Balgeddie House is in a fantastic location. It’s had great success and its sale - and the interest in it - highlights very real demand from private and corporate investors keen to extend their reach into Scotland’s independent hotel market.”
Other Lindsays lawyers involved in the deal were Alastair Smith, a Director in our Corporate team and Employment law Partner Kate Wyatt.
Commercial real estate agents Colliers, which marketed the property, said the property “generated competing bids from buyers based in Scotland and further afield as it’s a very well-known hotel and hospitality business in the region.”
Our team were also involved in advising Solley Hotels with the recent deal to sell the King's Manor Hotel in Edinburgh for the group. Read the full article here: Edinburgh’s Kings Manor Hotel sale highlights strong investor interest
