Lindsays’ sports law team, led by Partner, Douglas Roberts, advised John Sim and David Sinton of Stark’s Park Properties (SPP) on the acquisition of the controlling interest in Raith Rovers Football Club.
The club has had a complicated corporate structure since the “Reclaim the Rovers” fundraising campaign and takeover in 2005 and SPP already owns the club’s stadium in Kirkcaldy. The restructure, bringing the club and the stadium under single ownership, has been well-received by supporters and provides great financial security to the football club.

Time was of the essence due to the poor financial state of the Club and to complicate matters my fellow Stark’s Park director lives in the Far East, leading to timing difficulties.
