Nina Taylor, Director in our Family Law team, was one of a team of business mentors involved in the ambitious leadership training project offered to St Vincent’s Hospice’s management team by Stirling-based consultancy, The Leadership Factory.
Nina offered advice and guidance to Sarah Mitchell, a physiotherapist at the hospice during two mentoring sessions over recent months. Nina was happy to volunteer her time and her involvement was a perfect fit with the objectives of Lindsays’ 2015 charity initiative which was launched to mark the firm’s bicentenary.
Sarah commented on the experience, saying in her final presentation: “Finally, working with my coach, Nick, and mentor, Nina, has been invaluable.
“The two mentoring sessions gave me time and space to reflect on my current work situation and Nina gave me reassurance about a lot of things that I am doing right! She also gave me lots of advice and ideas that I am already using and will continue to use in the future."
The programme involved the St Vincent’s Hospice management team benefiting from over 600 hours of time and expertise over the past six months. A total of 28 consultants and business mentors provided a mix of workshops, coaching and mentoring.
Kate Lennon, Chief Executive of St Vincent’s Hospice, said: “We feel very fortunate to be the recipients of such a unique gift. We have learned so much about ourselves and our business and the way in which we can work together more effectively for the benefit of the hospice and all those whose lives are touched by the care services we deliver.
“The team at the Leadership Factory has been outstanding throughout the programme, and their expertise together with the commercial advice and guidance gained from the network of business mentors has been invaluable.”
As well as Lindsays, other businesses and organisations involved with the programme ranged from beverage producers, finance and tax specialists, through to medical suppliers and training consultants.
The Leadership Factory is Scotland’s fastest growing business management consultancy and the project stemmed from an idea from Victoria Russell, who is Principal Consultant. She then secured agreement from the organisations directors to donate both their time and the time and expertise of their combined extensive network.
