scottishathletics has confirmed there are 2238 names on the start-lists for the big day at Callendar Park in Falkirk on Saturday 26 February. And, while this number is slightly lower than recent years, it’s good to see representatives from 109 Scottish clubs are signed up to race. According to scottishathletics this year’s event has drawn athletes from more clubs than ever before.
This event marks the finale of the Lindsays Cross Country Season 2021/2022 and determines which club will win the Lindsays trophy. The trophy is a participation accolade based around the aggregate of overall finishers for a club (across all age groups) at three national championship events – Lindsays National XC Relays at Scone Palace and the Lindsays Short Course XC at Lanark. Giffnock North AC are the current trophy holders from the 2018/19 season with Edinburgh AC, Cambuslang Harriers and Garscube Harriers all vying for the top spot this season.
Lindsays has supported the Scottish Cross Country Season since 2014 and look forward to another fantastic finale to the 2021/22 season this weekend.
We would like to wish all the participants good luck on Saturday and will be watching in anticipation to see which athletics club lifts the Lindsays trophy this season.
