We are delighted to announce our latest round of promotions which includes five making the step up to Partner and six other colleagues are also promoted.
The appointments have been made in our Commercial Property, Employment, Rural, Private Client and Risk and Compliance departments in Edinburgh and Glasgow and the five new Partners represent the largest single round of promotions to Partner that has ever been made at Lindsays. These promotions take our total number of Partners to 52, up from 39 this time last year, prior to its merger with Tayside firm Miller Hendry. Another six lawyers have also been promoted across a number of departments and offices.
Managing Partner, Alasdair Cummings said: “To provide the high calibre advice that we strive to share with the people and businesses with whom we work, we need good people in our team. These latest promotions highlight our commitment to not only recruiting the right people, but offering them the opportunities to develop their careers with Lindsays.
“It is important that we continue looking to - and building for - the future. I am sure that our new Partners will support us in doing exactly that. Each of them has worked incredibly hard to reach this point. I am delighted that we are able to recognise both their skills and commitment. Congratulations to them all.”
Clare Wilson’s promotion to Partner in the Commercial Property team, based in Glasgow, highlights our commitment to professional development. She has climbed the ranks having first joined as a Trainee Solicitor in September 2007.
In the Employment Law team, Daniel Gorry has made the step up to Partner just a year after joining our firm as a Director, based in Glasgow.
David Walker, meanwhile, has been with Lindsays for almost 11 years. He was previously the firm’s Risk and Compliance Director in Edinburgh and his promotion to Partner will develop that role.
Leanne Gordon has also been promoted from Director to Partner, with the Rural, Land and Business team in Edinburgh. She has worked with our firm since 2015 when she joined as a Solicitor. She took time away for a year before rejoining in March 2023.
Nicole Noble takes the step up to Partner in the Private Client department, based in Edinburgh. She first joined Lindsays through our merger with Hadden Rankin in 2019.
As previously announced by the firm, Family Law Partner Nina Taylor has succeeded Peter Tweedie, who retired as both Chair and a Partner in the Corporate and Commercial team from 31 March 2024, although he will remain with us in a consultancy role.
Nina said: “Lindsays has an enviable track record for recognising emerging talent in the legal profession and offering excellent opportunities to progress. Having started as an Associate with the firm, I am proof of that and believe strongly in ensuring others have those same chances.
“I am looking forward to working with my colleagues in their new roles as I too settle into mine.”
