During some downtime amid preparations for their Autumn Test clash with Scotland at Murrayfield on Saturday, two of the New Zealand All Blacks players enjoyed a round of golf in Edinburgh hosted by a few of our partners.
Through a mutual connection, two of the world champions, Beauden Barrett (the current World Rugby Player of the Year) and Damian McKenzie played a friendly yet competitive 18-holes with Peter Tweedie, our Chairman, Paul Harper, Dispute Resolution and Litigation Partner, and Mark Little, Consultant.
The break from training apparently did the trick as both Beauden and Damian secured tries in the thrilling match which saw New Zealand claim a narrow 22-17 win over Scotland at Murrayfield.
Peter Tweedie said “We were delighted to arrange a round of golf for the visiting All Blacks. Beauden and Damian were great ambassadors for the All Blacks, New Zealand and the sport of rugby and it was great to spend a leisurely few hours chatting with them. We did try to encourage them to go easy on our boys in Saturday’s game and although that was unlikely to happen, it certainly turned out to be a cracking game!”
