Lindsays has been supporting SAMH for several years through staff volunteering, fundraising activities and events.
Now, as an independent Scottish law firm that works hard to support the mental health and wellbeing of our colleagues and clients, we’re excited to extend our support with this first joint Make a Will campaign.
Celebrating its 101st anniversary in 2024, SAMH provides mental health support and practical information across Scotland. This includes a national Information Service, online resources and over 70 community-based services. You can find out more about SAMH’s work at samh.org.uk.
Lindsays is proud our support of SAMH helps to transform lives like Lynda’s:
" My mental health has always been a problem. I was always reclusive and not confident at all. With experiences of bullying throughout my school years and adulthood, my mental health issues were made worse. It's been five years since my lowest mental health point and I can now honestly say that my mental health is at the best that it's ever been and that's down to SAMH’s Chrysalis project."
Why make a Will
Many people assume they don’t need a Will or don’t need one yet. They think they’re not wealthy enough, not old enough, or that their spouse or partner will automatically inherit everything anyway.
This can be a damaging and costly mistake. As a rule of thumb, if you have savings, property, children under 16 or dependants, or simply want to protect your loved ones from a legacy of stress or possible legal disputes, a Will should be firmly on your agenda. It’s a way not only to avoid uncertainty or nasty surprises for those you love, but also to protect the rights and finances of children, partners or extended family.
